Fresco: Putti playing with precious china

At Favorite Palace an unparalleled wealth of collections of Margravine Sibylla Augusta has been preserved until today. In the sumptuous rooms of this "China Palace" (Porzellanschloss) Asian and European china, faiences, stoneware, statuettes of alabaster and ivory and objects from art collections are on display. In addition, there is also a china cabinet and ceiling frescos that depict parts of this rich china collection with an ingenious mirrored effect.

The most precious objects include the first pieces of Dresden china that Sibylla Augusta had in some cases purchased herself in Dresden. These manufactory products were lacquered and painted in accordance with the Chinese model. The Margravine's collection also includes original porcelain from China. Among the exquisite treasures of the collection are the blue-and-white Asian china pieces, which in some cases date from the 16th century - rare status symbols in Europe in the early 18th century.

These marvelous collections can be viewed on the two upper floors of Favorite Palace in a new exhibition. Special guided tours also focus on the topic "China Collection".
